Everyone sees them but not many look at them. Wooden telegraph poles have been a vital part of Sydney's landscape for more than a century, bringing light and power, and connecting people. They are all unique, each of them a work of art, unaware of its beauty, of its abstractness. Adorned by cables, they streak the ever changing sky. Poles are taken for granted. But they are ephemeral, sometimes eaten away, and gradually replaced by steel. Let's admire them before it is too late.
