Iris turned 13 in February.
Becoming a teenager means leaving childhood behind. Innocence and wonder end, replaced by the realities of existing in this world. It can be complicated and daunting, even more so when suffering from a chronic disease with no cure.
I know Iris will embrace this new chapter with strength and grace, because her ability of wonderment will never fail her.
